8th straight shutout by MAC 8th Mini Ads

Fond memory told about 4th-Grade rally for win

For head coach Roy Stone and his unbeaten Farragut Mini Admirals 8th-Grade football team, they sought “revenge” against Bearden Thursday night, Oct. 19, in the MAC Varsity playoff semifinals in Farragut High School’s Eddie Courtney Stadium.

Revenge, though, wasn’t due to a loss versus the Mini Bulldogs — it was getting scored upon despite beating Bearden on the road 26-18 to open the season.

“I think we’ve improved that much” since 26-18, Stone said, as his team recorded its eighth straight shutout last Thursday, blanking the Mini Bulldogs 30-0. Now 9-0, Farragut will host Austin-East in the MAC Varsity title game beginning around 7:30 p.m., tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Among the Farragut 4th-Grade team’s three YAC wins this season, rallying from a 14-0 deficit to beat Central 26-20 “was awesome,” head coach Matthew Martin said.
