• At 8:56 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, Knox County Sheriff’s Officers responded to an Outlet Drive business on report of a disturbance. “I spoke to the security guard, who advised officers ‘there was a white female in the parking lot wandering around causing several customers to complain,’” the report stated. “Security advised that she had been asked to leave several times. Officers made contact with the (eventual) arrestee, who (said) she was attending the event at the bar.
When asked why she was wandering outside, suspect was unable to answer. “She was unable to tell officers where she was staying with any more specificity than ‘Knoxville; and had a staggered gait, bloodshot, watery eyes and the smell of an alcoholic beverage about her breath and person,” the report stated. “Due to her wandering in and out of the trafficway in the parking lot, she is a danger to herself.” She was taken into custody and transported to Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility for processing. The complainant, an agent for the venue, said she was no longer welcome on the property, and she was advised of this.
• At 9:23 a.m., Monday, Nov. 13, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report theft at a Pecos Road address. Complainant said she saw a post on Facebook marketplace stating “giving away free piano.” Complainant sent a message to the listed suspect and was advised to e-mail the inquiry to a specific site. Complainant said she sent the e-mail on Oct. 26 wanting the piano and was advised to set up a scheduled delivery through www.highclassglobals.com.
Complainant went to the website and talked to the online customer service chat and scheduled a delivery for 4 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8. “Complainant was then sent a link … to verify her identity for switching of ownership of the piano,” the report stated. “Complainant went onto the link and entered a photograph of her driver license and entered her Social Security number. (The site) advised complainant a temporary e-mail address was created for her and that she needed to use that e-mail and go (to a site) and enter that temporary e-mail address and enter her personal information with photographs again.”
Complainant sent $890 for the scheduled delivery through Paypal family and friends to (the alleged company). Complainant was then advised the piano would be delivered. “Complainant advised on Nov. 8 the piano never was delivered, and at 7 p.m. complainant tried to contact customer service and no one had responded,” the report further stated. “Complainant believes her identity also was stolen during this incident and has frozen all credit” accounts.
• At 12:01 p.m., Nov. 13, a victim called KCSO East Precinct to file a report regarding an identity theft at a Red Mill Lane residence. According to the victim, around June 21, 2023 he received a letter from the State of Tennessee Consumer Use Tax Office regarding unpaid taxes on items imported from Germany in the year 2020. The victim said the letter advised he owed $944.33 in taxes and penalties.
According to the victim, he contacted the State Consumer Use Tax Office and advised them he never made any purchase(s) from Germany. He said apparently someone in 2020 set up an account with the state using his identity and never paid the consumer use tax on the products they imported from overseas. “Victim advised he was told the state was behind on auditing and had just reached 2020,” the report stated. “He stated nothing was showing on his credit report and he wasn’t receiving any items or correspondence at his home address, so he was never aware of it.”
According to victim, in June 2023 he sent the state his financial records to prove he had not imported anything from overseas. He said they cleared his case and were suppose to close his account.
Victim said he recently received another letter “saying he owes $1,262.99 from the import of other items,” the report stated. “According to the victim, he contacted their office again and was told they had previously mailed out a letter with the specific information as to the date, exact product(s) imported and amount of tax owed. He said he never received that letter.”
The victim advised he has to send them his financial records again to show he didn’t import these item(s). According to the victim, this time they told him he needed to file a report with his local law enforcement agency. He stated they also told him there was another case pending from February 2022 which hasn’t been processed yet.
• On Nov. 13, a victim advised he hired the suspect as an architect for add-on designs. The victim advised he paid the suspect $4,200 for the designs. The victim advised that when he went to get the plans made by the suspect finalized he was advised the suspect is not a licensed architect and was denied his permit. The victim advised he has tried to contact the suspect but suspect will not call him back.
• At 6:16 p.m., Nov. 13, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report theft from a Midhurst Drive business. Eleven items were listed as stolen with a total value listed at $1,039.78, which included a Samsung Galaxy tablet ($269.99) and a Bissell Crossway Wet Vac ($231.26). The complainant shared a list of possible suspects, while the business does an internal investigation.
