Enjoy unique state dining beverages in Town: Drink Trail
Farragut’s visitors and residents have a special opportunity to see what the Town’s restaurants have to offer, especially in drink.
“Tennessee never tasted so good,” said Kristi Vining, tourism assistant with Visit Farragut, which “has partnered with local restaurants to offer visitors a Made In Tennessee Drink Trail.”
Having started Friday, Dec. 1, the Trail “gives people a chance to experience Farragut in a different way,” said Halle Riddle, Visit Farragut tourism program coordinator. “It shows people a lot of restaurants they never thought of trying.”
Or, those who like a challenge can take on the Trail map by visiting each restaurant on the map to “get a prize.”
Riddle added the event will go as long as people are participating. “I think it’s a fine way to open people’s eyes,” she said. “A lot of people get in a rut.”
Local/state element
With the Made In TN Trail, Riddle said it’s something new that will be enjoyed. “Each restaurant on the Trail will highlight a beer or cocktail with an elment from Tennessee,” she said.
Specific to drink/restaurant
Restaurants participating and their featured drinks include: Big Kahuna Wings with Tennessee’s Delight; Water Into Wine bistro & lounge, Nelson’s Classic Old Fashioned; Sparrow Wine Bar, Ciders and IPAs; Topgolf Knoxville, Blackberry Smash; Season’s Innovative Cafe, local craft beers; and Cotton Eyed Joe, Blue Margarita.
Riddle encourages participants to “go at their own pace.
“We do encourage people not to do it all in one night,” she added.
State pride, other notes
Along with visitors having a chance to try the restaurants, Riddle said the event also “is a way to show pride in Tennessee.
“I hope everyone will try the Tennessee drinks, but it’s not required,” she added.
“We hope to do a few more (such events) in the future.”
Last year, “Visit Farragut did a Shines and Sips Drink Trail featuring holiday drinks from local restaurants and an online map of area holiday decorations,” Riddle said. “It was such a success with our business partners that we are trying this new drink trail this year.”
The Made in Tennessee Drink Trail “will run as long as people participate,” she added. “We just wanted to make a creative way for visitors to experience our unique food and beverage establishments. Residents, too, can join in on the fun.”
Register on Visit Farragut’s webpage, and prizes will be awarded if you visit five of the six restaurants, Riddle said. To participate in the Made In TN Trail, visit the trail map at https://map.proxi.co/r/O1OC3d-vOovW_Vkj0aVD
