New owners to re-open smokehouse, steakhouse
“I feel great about it,” said Jared Martin, general manager/executive chef. “We’re right on schedule.”
Martin recently partnered with Doug Snover and Snover’s staff with hopes to open the restaurant Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 9405 S. Northshore Drive Suite 103.
The GM/executive chef expects he and the staff will be ready to serve lunch and dinner on that day with few changes.
“We’re still Fire + Smoke,” Martin said. “I didn’t see the need to change it. We had a good reputation.”
Martin assured the dishes will be very similar to what was previously served. However, “we’re going to be a little more accessible, as far as the pricing on the menus,” he said.
“But we will still have a steak section on the menu,” Martin added.
Fire + Smoke opened in May under William “Archer” Bagley III, who also owns Archer’s Barbecue in West Knoxville. However, “I found out the morning of Oct. 24,” the restaurant was closing,” said Martin, who was executive chef in October. “It closed the next day.
“After we closed — it was kind of a surprise — I was contacted by a regular patron of ours who wanted it back open,” he said. “He found me on Facebook, oddly enough.
“We started talking and now, here we are, moving forward with it,” Martin said. “It’s great for us.”
Fire + Smoke will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner, Tuesday through Sunday. It will be closed Monday.
