Multiple gunshots in Farragut happen at Comfort Suites: KCSO
At 11:57 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31, Knox County 911 received a call from Comfort Suites, 811 N. Campbell Station Road, reporting multiple gunshots heard.
“When deputies arrived, the complainant stated someone had fired multiple shots,” the report stated. “The shots came from the west-side stairwell exit door area. We reviewed the security camera covering that area and determined the person responsible for the gunfire was in guest room 225. We knocked on the door of room 225 and made contact with the suspect.
“… Our investigation revealed (suspect) owned a 40-caliber Springfield handgun,” the report further stated. “Five 40-caliber spent shell casings were found near the exit door. The brand and type of casings matched the ones in the suspect’s gun. The investigation also determined the shots were fired from the open exit door into the air.
Knox County forensics responded to the scene and “photographed and collected the shell casings,” the report stated. However, no arrest was mentioned in the report.
“The on-call Major Crimes detective was notified of the situation.”
