KCSO reports
• At 11:49 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit was dispatched to a Kingston Pike business for narcotics that were found in the back parking lot. Complainant said he found “a small plastic bag that contained two clear capsules that contained a crystalline substance,” the report stated.
“The bag was found near the rear entry doors to the service center. I collected the suspected narcotics and they will be placed in the narcotics locker at the City-County Building” in downtown Knoxville.
• At 8:41 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report a swindle from a Lakehurst Lane residence. Complainant said he received numerous calls from a phone number saying they were Spectrum cable trying to give him a better deal on his TV packages. “Complainant advised after several calls he finally answered the phone and spoke with what he assumed to be a Spectrum consultant,” the report stated. “Complainant was advised by this suspect he could get him a package deal for 50 percent off his regular bill and it will be locked in for four years. Complainant also was advised he would have to pay a year in advance and no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, “in order to lock in the deal.”
The suspect then proceeded to ask complainant to pay in two $360 gift cards from Target stores. Complainant went to the Target along Parkside Drive “and purchased two gift cards in the amount of $720 total. Complainant advised he called back the phone number and gave the suspect … the gift card numbers. Complainant did not receive a confirmation e-mail, like promised, and proceeded to call Spectrum. At 6:30 p.m., complainant called Spectrum and was advised this was a scam and to report it to the police. Complainant said he also reported it to his American Express and IC3.”
• At 2:40 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, officers were dispatched to Dunkin Donuts, North Campbell Station Road, in reference to a possible case of identity theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with victim, who showed officers there were multiple logins on her G-mail account in various locations, one of the locations of the was in Farragut. Victim also showed officers Carfax logs, which showed a person getting their car serviced in her name.
• At 2:42 p.m., Jan. 4, an officer responded to an Oakland Hills Point residence in regard to a theft. Victim/complainant said his son, suspect, is a long-term narcotic user. Victim said he allowed the suspect into his residence the previous night, when the suspect took two firearms before leaving the residence this morning. Suspect was under the influence when he left, and hallucinating to the point of paranoia. Victim has not been able to contact the suspect since. Victim also said the Suspect stole three pairs of high-end shoes from another victim who was not on scene.
• At 1:59 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report a vandalism to her vehicle at a Farr Drive residence. Complainant advised sometime during the night of Oct. 17 her vehicle was vandalized and was not noticed until Dec. 1. Complainant advised there are three dents in her vehicle that were not there prior. Complainant was advised by her insurance company to file a police report for the damages. Estimated cost of damage was listed at $3,000.
• At 1:25 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report identity theft at an Ackley Circle residence. “Complainant received two bills in the mail for Verizon for an account that was taken out using his credentials,” the report stated. “Complainant advised there was a bill for $566.49 and an open letter of credit from Verizon signature credit card. Complainant advised he contacted Verizon about the bills and was advised that no information could be shared with him until a police report was made.”
• At 7:05 a.m., Friday, Dec. 22, officers responded to a Campbell Lakes Drive hotel in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with complainant/witness, and she said a male and female had been asked to leave the property but refused. “Complainant also said both parties had been staying in (a room) and had caused $5,000 worth of damage in the room. Officers located both suspects in the back parking lot.”
Both were read their Miranda Rights, and both agreed to speak with officers. Male suspect said he recently lost his job and was having an argument with the woman. Male suspect said he caused all the damage to the room. Ms. Price stated that Mr. Hall is under a lot of stress and they were arguing. Female suspect said nothing had gotten physical between them. Officers observed damage to the room, and pictures were uploaded via Axon Capture. Male suspect, who was in possession of a handgun, was taken into custody without incident and transported to Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.
Female suspect was released from the scene. Both were both trespassed from the property. The handgun was placed in the lockers at Knox County Jail for safekeeping. Total value of damage was listed at $1,195.
• At 2:42 p.m., Dec. 22, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a swindle/false pretense from Battle Front trailer lot. Complainant said “she received a call from someone claiming to be with First Horizon Bank and fraudulent activity was noticed,” the report stated. “The complainant answered questions and gave the caller bank information. With the information provided the suspect was able to access the mobile banking app and transfer $2,000 to a Republic Bank bank account. The complainant notified First Horizon and the checking account was closed.”
• At 4:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report vandalism of his 2019 Ford F-50 Super Duty truck while he was shopping at Costco, 10745 Kingston Pike. Complainant advised when he returned to his vehicle he noticed a “2 to 3-inch hole in his tailgate that was not there before,” the report stated. “The complainant stated that he does not think the damage could have been done by another vehicle; rather (it was) possibly done with a knife by an unknown suspect.”
