Povlin names her ‘big 7’ goals for Town of Farragut in 2024 before her final term ends in fall
With the new year in full swing, Farragut Vice Mayor Louise Povlin named seven Town projects she would like to see completed before the end of 2024.
• Updates to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan completed;
• Have started reconstruction of Union Road;
• “The update to the Advanced Traffic Signal Control system is complete;”
• “Stormwater assessment is complete and a priority list of repairs is in place;”
• “Mid-block crosswalks are installed on McFee Road, Grigsby Chapel Road and Turkey Creek Road;”
• “Pickleball courts are relocated to Mayor Bob Leonard Park;” and
• Campbell Station Inn renovations (to the interior) have started.”
BOMA election status
This will be Povlin’s last time to contribute such hopes as a North Ward Town Alderman-Vice Mayor: her final term in office ends just after the August non-partisan Town election.
While Povlin is term-limited, Alderman Drew Burnette also has his South Ward seat up for election in August. If he seeks re-election, Burnette would be seeking one final four-year term.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ron Williams and North Alderman Scott Meyer each have two years remaining in their final terms in office.
South Ward Alderman David White, serving his first term in office, would be up for re-election, if he so chooses, in 2026.
