In the District 5 Knox County Commission race there are five Republicans running for office.
Since I did not know any of them, I researched all of them using Google and DuckDuckGo. One candidate had issues that disqualified them for my vote. Others had the same message: growth and Infrastructure without any specifics.
I recommend every voter research all these candidates before making a decision.
Only one candidate had the knowledge and experience I was looking for. I will vote for and support Angela Russell for District 5 County Commission. She is a state-licensed Certified Public Account and a state-licensed real estate appraiser, qualities we need on County Commission.
As important as her experience is, her work as a citizen has included successfully defending the Choto community from a Pill Mill in 2015, stopping the Choto Landing low-income housing last year and just recently working with neighbors to get the Knoxville/Knox County Commission to lower a rezoning request from five units and acre to three units an acre on Harvey Road.
Angela was also instrumental in getting Northshore Road widened.
Citizen participation was a key factor for my decision. I hope you will take the time to contact her and go to her website at: https://voteangelarussell.com/
