• At 2:19 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to 11656 Parkside Drive (Publix) in reference to found property.
The Publix complainant said that on Sunday, Jan. 14, an employee located $522 “in U.S. currency laying on the floor of the produce section of the store,” the report stated. “Complainant said store policy is … to notify the police to confiscate the currency if over $50 and if no one has attempted to claim the currency.”
Complainant said that as of Jan. 26 Publix had “not been contacted by any person claiming ownership of the property,” the report stated. Officer “took possession of the currency to be placed in the (Knox County Jail) property lockers.”
• At 9:10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report theft from Planet Fitness, 11433 Kingston Pike.
Complainant said she was using the stair machine and laid her jacket with vehicle keys inside in front of the machine. Complainant said when exiting the machine she noticed her jacket was stolen. Complainant said “an unknown suspect must have picked up the jacket and left the premises,” the report stated. Complainant said she “went through the gym and lockers and could not locate the jacket.”
Value of loss was listed at $100. Complainant was advised that someone at the facility “would pull the video footage from inside the gym for detective use.”
• At 4:15 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report fraudulent use of his Social Security number. Complainant advised “his wife opened a piece of mail stating they owed Cash Net USA a payment of $190, as it had not been paid for a loan that was withdrawn in the listed victim’s name,” the report stated.
Complainant said his name, Social Security number and home address were all part of the loan account. Complainant said “the bank account that was connected to the loan account was not his, as it was with First National Bank of Pennsylvania that received the funds,” the report stated. Complainant said he contacted the loan company to report this and they advised him to also report it with his local law enforcement.
