Murphey, 32-0, wins 4th state wrestling title; KCHS pair 2nd, Connatser 3rd

FRANKLIN — Finishing off a near-perfect high school wrestling career, Hardin Valley Academy senior Ella Murphey captured her fourth TSSAA girls wrestling state crown — this season in the 185-pound class — finishing 2023-24 at 32-0 following state meet action Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25.

Murphey capped her sensational career with a pin (at 2:34) versus a senior with a final 30-3 record: Carter Grissom of Riverdale.

Elsewhere, a pair of Knoxville Catholic girls grapplers took second place at state: senior Rebecca Deyo (27-3) in the 165-class and freshman Delilah Queen (31-2) at 138.

On the boys side, HVA junior Brock Connatser (58-3) was third in the state at 113.
