Under way with Villas at Villages of Farragut
“They are currently building a section of one of the roads with plans to begin construction on the first six villas,” Villages of Farragut executive director Melody Matney said. “The 25-acre property has plans for a total of 66 villas over time.”
“We start building the villas at the end of March,” said Wade Townsend, a foreman with Centennial Builders, the construction company building the villas. “New Age Construction did the grading.”
He said the first half of the grading has been completed.
“It takes about six to eight weeks to complete,” Townsend added.
“We have a waiting list for people interested in leasing,” Matney said. “They can call Sandi (Simpson) or me at 865-671-2500.
However, “planning details are still in the works,” the executive director added.
The villas will help alleviate some of the lack of senior living housing, Matney said
“Our main building continues to maintain full occupancy, so clearly there is a demand for senior living,” she added. “Such a facility offers maintenance-free living with a lot of extra amenities that appeal to the senior population.”
