• I find it curious that here, in an election year, that the farragutpress opts to include a picture of (a Town elected official candidate) who is running for reelection, on articles where his contributions to the article are minuscule, while other individuals … are the primary individuals being quoted. This occurred on Feb. 21. Regarding the BOMA retreat and the latest March 13 edition, (the candidate) is shown up on the front page (thumbnail photo) even though his brief comment does not even appear until page 3, while (another BOMA official) is quoted repeatedly in the article on the Knox Growth Plan.
Is this for the purpose of promoting a particular candidate in the upcoming election? … Is it appropriate for the farragutpress to be promoting the image of an (elected official) seeking re-election rather than those individuals who are quoted far more often and more relevant to the article?
Editor’s Note: although we do not “promote” any elected official in his or her bid for election or re-election, we acknowledge that usage of photos, no matter how small, where a given official running for re-election seems to have this privilege more than his colleagues, is something this paper’s editor must be more careful in preventing.
