• John McCulley recently was named vice president of operations for Randseco, a medical software company connecting disparate technology systems to streamline patient transportation logistics.
In his new role, McCulley will oversee the execution, growth and management of innovative technologies such as StatCall, digital patient logistics software enabling more efficient hospital throughput in collaboration with medical transportation partners.
• University of Tennessee Extension specialist Clint Cummings recently was selected to help lead a new national effort to connect resources and individuals in the quickly-evolving food and agriculture career sector.
Cummings, an Extension specialist in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, will serve as the National Network lead and Regional Network coordinator for the Southern Region for the new AgriProspects Workforce Development Network project.
This project is being conducted through the Extension Foundation in collaboration with Extension Committee on Organization and Policy Economic & Workforce Development Program Action Team and National Extension Clearinghouse for Industry, and the Workforce National Working Group —and is funded by National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
• Tennessee Grow Your Own Center, a partnership between Tennessee Department of Education and University of Tennessee System, has been awarded a $1.8 million grant over two years by Ascendium Education Group to strengthen the teacher talent development pipeline across Tennessee, by increasing the number of individuals enrolling in teacher education programs and improving the retention of existing teachers.
The grant will fund the development of the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program of Study, which will be an online curriculum developed by faculty fellows in the Institute for Competency-Based Teacher Education.
