• April 21 through April 27 is National Crime Victims Rights Week. This week is to commemorate and show support and compassion for victims of violent crime and their loved ones.
Not only is it to commemorate those who have loved and lost people to violent crimes and violent criminals, it’s also to say thank you to those in law enforcement who have stood by and supported us.
Please wear a small purple ribbon or tie a purple ribbon to your mailbox, your door knob or your antenna to show support for this very important week.
There will be a Hope for Victims Candlelight Vigil at the Family Justice Center on Huron Avenue, which is where the Knoxville Police Department is now located. It is at 7:30 (p.m.), Sunday night, April 21. Please join us — and those who have lost someone to violent crime, please bring a picture of your loved one.
