KCSO reports
• At 5:41 a.m., Friday, May 3, a Knox County Sheriff Office unit responded to Kingston Pike at Concord Road in reference to a hit-and-run. Officer “made contact with (victim/vehicle owner, who said) she was stopped at the traffic light on Concord Road, attempting to make a right turn onto Kingston Pike, when a vehicle crashed into the rear end of her” 2020 Subaru Outback, the report stated.
“When (victim) exited the vehicle, she (said) the suspect vehicle drove away.” Victim said she was able to copy down the suspect’s vehicle tag number. Victim’s vehicle had some small scuff marks on the rear bumper. “She refused medical treatment on scene,” the report stated.
Total value of damage was listed at $150.
• At 7:05 a.m., May 3, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report a fraud/false pretense/swindle from a Banbury Road residence. Complainant said “he opened an e-mail from Paypal and it stated he owed them $880,” the report stated. “He called the number listed on the e-mail and he believed it was Paypal Fraud Department.”
Suspect said “he was in debt to Paypay (for) $9,000, and he needed to pay $8,000 through Bitcoin and $1,000 through American Express gift cards.” Suspect “told him he could get his Bitcoin money back once they received the American Express gift card information,” the report further stated. “He called Bitcoin and was informed he could not get his money back without a QR Code.
He contacted Bank Of America to report the incident and they informed him to file a police report.”
• At 3:34 p.m., May 3, a KCSO unit made contact with a victim in reference to a hit-and-run at a Brochardt Road address. Victim said he “was working on a residence in the neighborhood, and his friend brought it to his attention that there was damage to his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee,” the report stated.
Victim said “while working on the residence, an unknown vehicle hit his vehicle, causing damage to the front passanger door. Total value of damage was not listed.
• At 12:36 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report vehicle burglary at Ingles, 11847 Kingston Pike. Complainant advised “her locked” 2013 Nissan Rogue was broken into, the report stated. Complainant said she was “unsure of how the unknown suspect(s) gained entry. Complainant advised her glove box and console was also rummaged through.”
Complainant said $200 in cash “was in her purse in the front seat, passenger-side, prior to this incident,” the report further stated. “Complainant advised her purse was rummaged through but not stolen.”
• At 12:32 p.m., Sunday, April 28, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report her 2013 Chevrolet Camaro as stolen from Taco Boy Sports Bar, 747 N. Campbell Station Road. She advised “her sister saw the suspect get into the vehicle and drive off, but (said) it happened so quickly she was unable to get any identifiers,” the report stated.
“The complainant advised she believes she left the keys on the bar due to them no longer being in her possession.”
Total value of loss was listed at $5,000.
