More than 1,500 came out to support Remote Area Medical and enjoy tequila and tacos at the same time during 9th Annual Southern Tequila & Taco Festival, which took place in Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza Friday night, April 26.

“It was an amazing night with over 1,500 people coming out to celebrate together,” stated the Southern Tequila & Taco Fest team in an e-mail.  

Meanwhile, Joshiah and the Greater Good band and Marlee Hart entertained the crowd.

John Volpe, event founder, said between 70 to 75 vendors, of which about 15 were restaurants,

participated in this year’s event.
