Late ’25 goal for N.Watt Publix
It’s official — Publix will be opening in Westerly Commons shopping center at the corner of North Watt Road and Kingston Pike in Farragut.
“As Publix announced earlier in the week, Schaad Companies, LLC (owner) and CHM, LLC (development manager), are pleased to announce the future development of Westerly Commons on property owned by the Schaad family for decades, at the northwest corner of Kingston Pike and Watt Road in Farragut,” announced Budd Cullum, partner/president of CHM, LLC./Cullom Properties Inc.
The construction crew has yet to break ground.
“We hope to begin site preparation work in the next 30 days,” he added, noting the tentative schedule to open the store would be late 2025.
Along with Publix, Cullom said there will be 10,000 square feet of small shop space and one to two out-parcels as well.
“The Publix and 10,000 square feet of (other) shops will have 278 parking spaces, not including the future out-parcel,” Cullom said.
While there is leasing interest, he said there are no other tenants to announce yet.
“I think, with the residential growth in the area, combined with Publix’s superior operations, this store should be very successful,” he added. “I think everyone in the West Farragut/Dixie Lee area will be extremely excited.”
The grocery chain’s building will be 48,387 square feet.
The Turkey Creek Publix in Farragut will remain open, according to Cullom, adding the new store “will be slightly larger, but similar.
“However, Publix constantly innovates with certain new features on new stores.”
There will be no gasoline station nor car charging station, initially.
