Super Chix aims for fall opening

As Biddle Farms Town Center builds out, Super Chix Chicken & Custard owners are looking forward to an early fall opening.

“We started the interior build-out already,” said Hemanshu Patel, one of Super Chix’s franchise managing partners. “It’s going well, but we’re probably still (looking at) early fall. I’m hoping (for) a late September into early October opening.

“Biddle Farms Town Center is exactly what Farragut needs as a community,” Patel added. “I think it’s going to be really nice, very pedestrian-friendly and (a place) for people to hang out, including high school kids, all the families who live in there … and all the people who are passing along Kingston Pike going further west.

“For a town like Farragut to have something like this, it’s special because it’s a growing community and I don’t think it’s stopping anytime soon.”

Super Chix, a franchise headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, has only one other Tennessee location: Clinton Highway, which opened three years ago. He said there are four locations in Alabama, a couple in North Carolina, “some” in South Carolina and in Georgia (Atlanta).

“It’s a small brand” he noted, adding the managing partners for the Farragut franchise have lived in Knoxville for about 30 years.

Patel said the products feature quality ingredients, whether that be a hand-breaded or grilled chicken sandwiches, salad or tenders.

He said the quality also goes into its fries — fresh hand-cut, cheese fries, loaded — fried pickles, coleslaw, grilled cheese and its fresh-churned frozen custard.

“What we’re doing is giving you a high-quality chicken sandwich that is not fast food,” Patel said. “Everything is made to order, and the quality of it is equal or better to any nice restaurant in town.

“You can get any sandwich on the menu; you can get it breaded or you can get it grilled,” he added.

The menu’s variety of salads include Asian Sesame, house, Nashville hot, Southwest, buffalo ranch and crispy avocado.

As for his potatoes, “We know the farmer in Idaho,” Patel said. “We get the potatoes from a specific supplier … we cut all the potatoes in house and cook or fry them fresh.”

For the youngsters, Super Chix carries “kid’s meals.
