Bertini leads new RCF officers for 2024-25 year
His theme for the club this year is “Proud to be a Rotarian.”
“… I stand before you today, feeling incredibly honored and humbled to be elected President of Rotary Club of Farragut for the upcoming year,” Bertini said, looking forward to RCF success in 2024-25 “with the help and support of the incoming board members, as well as with the expectations I have of leaning on those who have served our club well for so many years.”
Rotary Club District 6780’s new District Governor, Rob Dansereau, inducted Bertini and his fellow officers: Brian Walker, Vice President; Greg Tilley, Secretary; Steve Krempasky, Treasurer; and Howard Fass, Sergeant-at-Arms.
Dansereau also inducted committee leaders: Jennifer Walker, Public Image Chair, and P.J. Dieffenbach, Co-Chair; Bill Rice, Foundation Chair; Alex Barnwell, Family of Rotary chair; and Jerry Schwallier, Co-Chair; Larry Sheumaker, Membership Chairman, and Denise Bash, Co-Chair; Patrick Finn, Service Projects Chair and Cindy Kraus, Co-Chair; Tom Woodberry, Youth Services Chair, and Sara Branson, Co-Chair; Becky Duncan, Rotary International Chair, and Judith Bradbury, Co-Chair; Stephanie Markowitz, Vocational Service Chair; and Richard Bettis, Co-Chair; John Hoffman, DEI; Craig Donnachie, Fundraising Chair; and Emily Justice, Co-Chair.
“I will do my best to meet the challenge,” Bertini said. “Our club has been built on strong leadership foundation, and I am fortunate to have a membership that is fully committed to Rotary’s ideal of ‘Service above Self.’
“I truly do love the Rotary Club of Farragut, its members and what we stand for,” the new RCF president added.
As part of the end-of-the-year meeting, past president David Bluford highlighted the club’s 2023-2024 accomplishments under the leadership of past president Valerie Privett and president-elect Teri Jo Fox: fundraising events, such as Singo, a Topgolf tournament, and School of Rock concert; community events, such as Walk for Water and Ringing of the Bells; service projects at Wesley House, Ridgedale Alternative School and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Looking forward, Bertini said he is “extremely excited and optimistic about all the great things our club will accomplish this year.
“We just want to move forward and focus on a lot of the positive reasons that we’re here,” he added.
The new president also has a goal of building the club with new members; have interesting, fun and uplifting programs; and make lasting impressions on youth.
Bertini, who joined the club in 2020, was Vice President for the 2023-24 year and Service Projects Chair prior to that.
“I love our service projects that we do throughout our community. I love that our club feels like a family and that we’re all here to support our community and one another,” he said, adding he joined RCF because “I wanted the opportunity to be part of something that was bigger than myself.”
Bertini, a commercial storage consultant and account manager for East Tennessee with Patterson Pope, and wife, Sarah Bertini, are the parents of twins Noah and Anniston, 8, who attend Northshore Elementary School.
