Farragut’s Devlin is named Rural Metro Fire-Knox chief
Rural Metro Fire-Knox County recently announced Jeffrey Devlin of Farragut has been promoted to the position of Fire Chief.
Devlin has been with Rural Metro Fire since 1990 and has served in every position from firefighter/paramedic to his most recent position of assistant chief of operations, which he had served in for the last five years.
“Rural Metro Fire has an over 45-year history of excellence in serving Knox County,” he said. “My intention is we will be Knox County’s Fire Department for 45 more.
“It is my honor to lead the men and women of our organization as we continue to serve the citizens of Knox County,” Devlin added.
Rural Metro Fire held a Meet-n-Greet with its new fire chief Monday July 29, in Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd.
Devlin just finished an unsuccessful bid to be elected a Town alderman representing Ward 1 (North) following Election Day Thursday, Aug. 1 (see related story starting on page 1A).
