• Y-12 Credit Union has announced the recent appointment of David Rupert as the new chair of its Board of Directors. With 24 years of volunteer service at the credit union and 13 years on the board — most recently as vice chair — Rupert brings a wealth of experience and commitment to his new role. He succeeds Ron Honeycutt, who has served with distinction for more than 30 years and will continue to contribute as a board member.
Rupert, who retired in 2013 after a 35-year career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has held various senior management roles, including program director, division director and senior human resources manager.
He holds a master’s degree in social science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and has completed advanced management and leadership programs at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and University of Tennessee. He also is a certified senior professional in human resources.
Y-12 Credit Union CEO Mark Ziegler said he believes this shift will continue to produce a strong and unified organization. “David is an incredible advocate for our credit union,” Ziegler said. “His extensive background in management and human resources, combined with his longstanding dedication to Y-12 Credit Union, positions him to lead the organization into its next chapter with vision and expertise.”
Other current Y-12 Credit Union Board of Directors and their roles are: Lloyd Jollay, vice chairman; David Liles, financial officer; Hurtis Hodges, secretary; Ron Honeycutt, director; Sam Pelchar, director; and Tom Fisher, director.
