Ice cream catering business brings flavors to events
Former Farragut resident Anita Morris’ Simply Sweet Ice Cream Catering can add flavor to any event.
Morris, now living in Farragut, recently launched her new home-based business, using an ice cream cart, to cater to private events.
“I offer over 70 flavors of ice cream,” she said. “Hershey’s Ice Cream is my distributor.
“I just, kind of, put a package together (for clients), take the cones, cups and spoons, napkins, and if they want toppings and whatever flavors they choose.”
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Morris has been a nurse since 2001.
However, “I was trying to find something lighter to do on the side of work,” she said. “You know, nursing isn’t always pleasant. I tried to find something to balance (and) ice cream makes people happy.”
Then she was inspired when she saw the cart on Facebook.
“I was like, ‘I have to have that cart,’” Morris recalled. “It’s so cute.
“I love it,” she added about operating the business. “It makes people happy and I love ice cream.
“I love to go celebrate with people, see everyone is happy, see smiling faces.”
Looking ahead, “Hopefully one day I can do this full time,” the business owner added.
