‘Amazing’ people make FPS Fall Fest

Farragut Primary School is priming for its annual Fall Festival, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, on the grounds of FPS, 509 N. Campbell Station Road.

“The FPS (Parent Teacher Organization) is so excited to host this year’s Fall Festival, and we are honored to serve our community via our biggest fundraiser of the year,” FPS PTO president Jhasta Tack said. “Because of our amazing parents, volunteers and donors, we get to provide fun for everyone while supporting our teachers, staff and students through the funds that are raised from the Fall Festival.

“Last year our fall festival brought in over $40,000 for Farragut Primary School,” she added. “We would love to see this year’s Fall Festival bring in more funds, as it all goes to support FPS.

“There’s so much we’re able to do with the funds our FPS PTO generates, from grounds maintenance to staff lunches, all the way to making sure we have up-to-date technology for our students, as well as saving funds for plans to update our playgrounds to accommodate all our friends at FPS. Every bit of it circulates back into our school.

With Farragut being her hometown (FHS Class of 2000), “It’s an honor to serve as FPS PTO president for the second year in a row,” Tack said. “It’s also surreal to see my two sons walk the same halls I once did — I’m definitely a proud mom with a full heart.”

The event is fun for the whole family, Tack added.

“All are welcome, and you don’t have to have an FPS student in order to attend,” she said. “We invite our entire community to come enjoy the fun.”

Visit fpspto.org to purchase your wristbands for unlimited festival fun and take advantage of our presale pricing.

“Our presale runs until Wednesday, Sept 25, when you may purchase a wristband at $15 per child — only children need wristbands — or a family pack for $50 for families with four or more children,” Tack said. “Wristbands will also be sold on site at the festival for $20 each.

“To our knowledge, the event has been taking place since at least the early 1970s,” she added.

“The FPS Fall Festival will have a little bit of everything, from games to arts and crafts to inflatables to photos with Finley, our beloved Dolphin mascot. We will also continue the traditions of hosting a bake sale and a silent auction, in addition to musical performances from our second-grade classes.”

Half of the classes will perform at 11:30 a.m., and the other half at 12:30 p.m.

She said concessions, as well as Chick-Fil-A and Kona Ice, also will be available for purchase, as will Spirit Wear.

Additionally, there will be booths of carnival games and crafts and other vendors.

While parking at FPS is limited, Tack said families also may park at Founders Park at Campbell Station and Farragut Medical along Grigsby Chapel Road.
