Hawks hang tough, but Halls pulls away late
The third quarter ended with that score. Unfortunately for HVA, the fourth period was all Halls, as the Red Devils pulled away with a 15-0 quarter and a 36-14 win.

The Red Devils took a 7-0 lead midway through the first when quarterback Amari Lethgo threw a 30-yard scoring pass to Brody Rogers. The visitors increased it to 14-0 on the first play of the second quarter when Lethgo finished off an 80-yard drive with a 1-yard plunge.
After gaining a mere 51 yards on its first three possessions, the Hawks’ offense finally got untracked when it took over on the Devils 47 with 7:24 left in the first half.
On the ninth play — third and 5 from the HVA 18 — Umansky hit Isaac Shelby for the score, and the Hawks were right back in it, 14-7. Umansky converted a fourth-and 2 on the drive with a 3-yard keeper.
The Red Devils answered right back when Lethgo connected with Landon Vest for a 6-yard TD pass with 49 seconds left in the half.
HVA penalties helped sustain the drive.
The Hawks (1-3) stuffed the Devils’ opening drive of the second half, then cut it to 21-14 when Umansky hit Stewart.
