• Big shout out to the Rural Metro Fire station guys who showed up Monday night (Sept. 16) within five minutes after calling to report a small kitten stuck in a tree alongside Loop Road. The kitten was heard crying for several days when some very nice neighbors and I came out to try to coax it down with no success. Rural Metro climbed up their ladder and brought the young animal down safely, and our awesome neighbors told everyone they would happily give it a home. Good job everyone. It takes a village!

• Election workers at Precincts 66SW and 66SE at Farragut High School Thursday, Aug. 1, would like to thank Buddy’s Bar-B-Q for the delicious barbecue sandwiches, chips and tea for lunch (11:30 a.m.) on Election Day; and Forno’s of Farragut for the tasty pizzas, salad and sandwiches furnished for supper (5 p.m.). Linda Bochenek was our pick-up and delivery person.
