Product of passion for Coram: Muse Esthetics
After 13 years in social work, conducting child investigations, Jessica Coram found her calling in beauty, opening Muse Esthetics, LLC., Sunday, Sept. 15, as its owner.
Located at 11020 Kingston Pike, Suite 120, in the shopping center with Fish Window Cleaning, “I decided this is the path I wanted to take,” she said. “I’ve always loved everything beauty related. I love make-up … fashion, all of that.”
One of Coram’s services is lash extensions, which includes classic — one synthetic lash placed on one-to-one ratio onto one’s own lash — and hybrid lash extensions, which is a mix of classic and a fan — several lashes to one lash, giving a fuller look.
“I do more of a natural set of lashes,” she said. “That’s my focus, to provide a more natural service in both skincare and the lash world.”
Coram also provides lash tints, which emphasize one’s natural lashes, for customers who do not want the extensions.
And she does brow shaping and laminations, which is a process to make one’s natural brows look fuller.
“I use a hybrid stain that stains both the brow hairs and skin to kind of fill in any sparse areas you may have,” Coram said. “It’s just a temporary procedure to make your natural brows look fuller.
“This will last up to 10 weeks with the lamination,” she added. “It’s a step down from brow tattooing or needling that some people are doing.”
Along with those services, Coram provides express, or 30-minute, facials and treatment facials, which can run 60 to 75 minutes long. She is certified as an MBK acne specialist.
“I took more education to focus on a holistic way of treating acne,” she said. “That includes focusing on your lifestyle and other factors that contribute to acne aside from just dirty skin or your makeup products and things like that.
“Not everybody’s acne is the same,” Coram added. “The cause is not the same.”
As a teenager, she recalled growing up with severe acne.
“It took me until I was about 30 to kind of figure out the routine that worked for me, and that turned out to be a more holistic, natural remedies focused on hormones and things like that,” Coram said.
“In the process of learning my own skin and how to treat that, I found this passion of skincare, and I’ve had several estheticians inspire me to take this journey into this portion of the beauty industry,” she added.
Her work to open the business began in May, when she earned her esthetician’s license, and then she went solo.
Corum’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, with expectations to increase her hours as her business grows.
To book an appointment, she uses Instagram with her booking site, muse.esthetics.tenn, on her Instagram account, or you can call or text 865-567-8287. She also has a Google website as well at Muse Esthetics.
