First 5 Bulldogs possessions, five Dawgs TD drives: 35-7 past HVA

BEARDEN — Five first-half Bearden possessions, five Dawgs touchdowns, as BHS rolled past Region 2-6A rival Hardin Valley Academy 35-7 Friday night, Sept. 30, at Bill Young Field.

Big senior running back Torian Riggins scored on a pair of TD runs, as did junior receiver Tory Beaufort, along with senior quarterback Drew Parrott.

Senior William Pendergrast added all five extra points to complete the Dawgs scoring.

Meanwhile, the Bearden defense put the clamps on HVA’s attack for the game’s first three quarters.

Using a recovered fumble forced by Hawks sophomore linebacker Isaac Beeler, the visitors (1-4, 0-1) scored on an 11-yard run by senior Kaden Cutcher in the fourth quarter of a second-half shortened — before this score — by a clock continuing to run through incomplete passes and penalties due to the 35-point rule.

Senior kicker Nathan Holbrook added the extra point.
