Farragut physical therapist has new practice in C-Bluff
The physical therapist, which also is a DPT and ATC, held his grand opening for Atlantic Rehabilitation Center at 9309 Kingston Pike, Suite D adjacent to CrossFit, Friday, Nov. 15.
He brings with him 26 years of experience as a physical therapist.
ARC provides physical, occupational and massage therapies, as well as athletic and sports performance training, and specializes in ACL and meniscus injuries, ankle sprains, back injuries, bursitis, tendonitis, herniated discs, hip pathologies, joint replacements, neck injuries, rotator cuff tears, sciatica, scoliosis and various neurological conditions.
“Our two biggest items that we invested in were a Class 4 laser and focus shock wave,” Caroccio said. “The Class 4 laser has been very beneficial in helping activate stem cells.
“It’s really good in pain relief, sports injuries, wound healing and inflammation,” he added. “It gets down 4 inches deep, so it’s a non-invasive treatment, and it’s better than injection or surgical procedure that’s more invasive.
The focus shock wave “is really good for people who have issues with carpal tunnel (syndrome), lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and lopathy. It also helps with trigger points,” Caroccio said.
“ One of the most beneficial things it’s helped with is incontinence and erectile dysfunction,” he added.
Instead of medications, “this actually helps create new blood flow and cellular pathways,” Caroccio said. It also helps with healing bone tissue and treating Achilles tendinopathy, plaintar fasciiitis and diabetic foot ulcers. Shock wave also can pinpoint injury locations.
Since ARC is considered “doctors of physical therapy,” Caroccio said a physician’s referral or prescription is not necessary.
“They can come directly to us,” he said of potential patients.
The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. It can be reached by calling 865-240-3550 or visiting online at www.atlanticrehalfcenter.com
Caroccio graduated from college, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1998, got his master degree in physical therapy then followed up with a doctorate degree in 2010.
As Caroccio opened his new clinic in Cedar Bluff, he also has facilities in Florida — three in Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
“But we’ve been coming to Tennessee and purchased a house and have been coming for the last part of 10 to 15 years,” he said. “We’ve been in Farragut since 2019.”
As Caroccio has been working out at CrossFit, “they used to use this area for gymnastics class, and would only use it one day a week,” he recalled. “He had known I was a doctor of physical therapy and asked if I was interested in opening up my facility here.”
