Holiday services, events for Town, area churches
Churches in Farragut and just outside the Town have announced their Christmas services times and days for 2024:
• Christ Covenant Church, 12915 Kingston Pike, will hold services starting at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Concord Presbyterian Church, 11000 Second Ave. in Concord, will hold a Christmas Eve service at noon Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Drive, will hold Christmas Eve worship services at the following times: family service starting at 2 p.m., contemporary service at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and traditional at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Additionally, it will hold a Christmas Concert starting at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8; breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14; Christmas Cookie & Tea Party beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16; A Service of Hope and Healing starting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18; and Christmas Cookie Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, all at CUMC, 11020 Roane Drive in Farragut. Services also are live streamed online and YouTube.com/concordunited
• Cornerstone Church of God, 12813 Kingston Pike, will conduct its Christmas Eve service beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Faith Lutheran Church, 225 Jamestowne Blvd., will have contemporary service beginning at 5 p.m. and traditional candlelight service starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Faith Promise Church Farragut Campus, 144 West End Ave,, will hold Christmas Eve services at 2:30 and 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Farragut Presbyterian Church, 209 Jamestowne Blvd., will have a Casual Christmas Eve service starting at 3 p.m. and a traditional service beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24, in the church sanctuary.
• First Baptist Church Concord, 11704 Kingston Pike, will host a concert with Taranda Greene starting at 6:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15; and candlelight Christmas Eve services starting at noon, 1:30, 3 and 4:30 p.m., Dec. 24, in the church sanctuary.
• First Farragut United Methodist Church, 12733 Kingston Pike, will have Community Christmas Day from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8; Breakfast with Santa from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14; a Kids Christmas Musical from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, in its Worship Center; Lessons and Carols from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, in in its Worship Center; and a Candlelight Communion Service from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, in FFUMC Worship Center.
• Grassy Valley Baptist Church, 10637 Kingston Pike, will have a worship service starting at 10:45 a.m. and noon, Sunday, Dec. 22, but has cancelled any services on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25.
• St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 110 Sugarwood Dr., Farragut, will hold a pageant beginning at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24, and worship service at 10:15 p.m., Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, it will have a worship service starting at 10 a.m.
• St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 633 St. John Court, has services for Tuesday, Dec. 24: Mass starts at 4:30 (the children’s liturgy, which includes a children’s choir and pageant, begins at 4 p.m.), 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. (the choir prelude begins at 10 p.m.); Christmas Day, Dec. 25: Mass begins at 6:45., 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (Spanish).
• Two Rivers Church, 275 Harrison Road in Dixie Lee Junction, will have candlelight services starting at 1:30, 3, 4:30 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24.
• Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 400 Everett Road in Farragut, will hold a casual Christmas Eve service starting at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24, in the sanctuary and a traditional service beginning at 7 p.m., also Dec. 24.
• Virtue Church, 725 Virtue Road in Farragut, will hold a family Christmas Eve candlelight service beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24. “For the season of Advent, we will be focusing on the Faces Around the Manger,” Virtue Church pastor the Rev. Bill Lyle said.
• Westside Unitarian Universalist Church, 616 Fretz Road, will have a Yule Celebration Sunday, Dec. 22, which will include a longer ritual.
• Westgate Church, 416 N. Campbell Station Road, will hold Christmas Eve services starting at 7 and 8 p.m. Its annual Christmas Party begins at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, and Christmas Dessert Theater starts at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec 15.
• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11837 Grigsby Chapel Road. (Look for details next week)
