Young homeschoolers brighten holidays for Concord Place residents
Local homeschoolers recently joined residents at Concord Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, 901 Concord Road, to celebrate the holidays.
The students and their families led the seniors in Christmas carols, tree decorating and crafting. The group also enjoyed Christmas cookies and a visit with Santa, according to a press release from Anthem Memory Care.
“Having dementia doesn’t diminish the joy of celebrating the holidays,” said Lorie Warren, life engagement director for Concord Place. “This was a great chance for the youngsters and our residents to reminisce and share their love of Christmas.”
“Anthem’s core purpose is to protect, engage and love people living with memory loss and is committed to providing understanding and significance to people with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia,” the press release stated.
Anthem, based in West Linn, Oregon, also operates and develops memory care communities in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
