Clean Juice’s new owners focus on organic

KNOXVILLE — Friends Chiran Sharma and Phani Potharaju have teamed up to buy the franchise as new owners of Clean Juice at 11670 Parkside Drive in Turkey Creek.

Located in the same shopping center as Publix, Sharma and Potharaju took over ownership Thursday, Jan. 2.

The store sells organic fruit and vegetable juices, which are “first of its kinds and all natural,” Potharaju said.

Their goal is to keep the product fresh, organic and always in stock, Sharma said.

“We’re only (U.S. Department of Agriculture)-certified approved organic juice bar,” he added.

Customers will find such vegetable juices as carrot, beet, kale, celery, spinach and cucumbers. Fruit juices include apple, orange, pineapple, frozen bananas, strawberries, blueberries and mangos. There also are blends.

“For me, I like the energy (blend),” Sharma said. “It’s a combination of ginger, carrot, beets and lemon.”

Along with juices, they also sell smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches and wraps. Clean Juice also caters events.

“For catering, we cover everything from smoothies to juices, acai bowls, sandwiches and wraps,” Potharajui said. “We can cater for anywhere from 10 people to 100 or more.

“Another key part of (the store’s offerings) is the cold-pressed juice. Those are completely organic, without any chemicals,” he added. “It has the shelf life of 45 days.”

The store’s winter hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays.

Summer hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays.
