Knox Youth Poet Laureate applications through Feb. 14
Knoxville Writers Guild announces that applications for the 2025 Knoxville Youth Poet Laureate Program are available for aspiring poets ages 13-19.
These teenagers are invited to apply “for this unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in their community through the power of poetry,” a KWG press release stated. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 14.
“Youth Poet Laureate Program seeks to empower young voices, nurture creativity and inspire civic engagement through poetry,” the release further stated. “The chosen Youth Poet Laureate will serve a one-year term from July 2025 to June 2026, representing the vibrant youth community of Knoxville and using their platform to encourage other young people to connect through words.”
Students with a passion for writing and a commitment to engaging with their peers and community through poetry are encouraged to apply.
