Goals are set by Marco’s new owner

HRG, the largest owner and operator of Marco’s Pizza franchises with more than 130 locations, announced Wednesday, Jan. 22, the acquisition of Farragut and eight other Marco’s Pizza locations across Tennessee and North Carolina.
“This strategic growth includes eight stores in Knoxville, Tennessee (and area), and one in Hendersonville, North Carolina, further solidifying HRG’s presence in communities where Marco’s Pizza has become a beloved name,” said Megan Zacharias, spokesperson for HRG.
“Following a successful year of growth in 2024, marked by 18 new builds and acquisitions, the franchise group is poised to continue its impressive momentum in 2025, bringing quality pizza and exceptional service to even more neighborhoods,” she added
“At Hoogland Restaurant Group, we are thrilled to continue Marco’s Pizza’s involvement in local communities. This acquisition marks another step in solidifying our commitment to the Marco’s Pizza brand while expanding our footprint in areas that we are already proud to serve.”
Zacharis said she does not expect changes in quality or employees.
“To further support its team, HRG has made job retention a top priority, retaining all staff to ensure continuity and stability,” she said. “To further support its team, the franchisee group has introduced a retention bonus program aimed at rewarding managers and fostering long-term loyalty.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled about our opportunity to make a positive impact in Knoxville and Hendersonville,” said Zach McLaughlin, director of Company Operations at HRG.
The newly acquired Knoxville and Farraut locations have partnered with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to donate 10 percent of proceeds from every Marco’s Kids Mega Meal Deal sold, according to Zacharias.
