NMSP is an annual competition for high school students planning to attend college, explained Laura Austin, FHS college and career facilitator. “The 2023 PSAT/NMSQT served as an initial screen of over 1.3 million entrants to the 2025 program,” she said. “Less than 1 percent of the test takers are selected as finalists. Farragut High School is proud that 10 seniors were named National Merit Finalists. These academically talented students can continue in the competition for 6,870 National Merit scholarships worth nearly $26 million.”
