• We were surprised and shocked that Farragut turned down Fifth/Third Bank to go in front of the Village Green shopping center. The old White Store family has owned that shopping center for 60 years; has been a very good corporate citizen of Farragut; very cooperative with Farragut.
How in the world (did the) Farragut (Municipal) Planning Commission and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen turn down the Fifth/Third Bank, (seeking to be) beside the other banks there? It’s hard to understand.
I see where Fifth/Third went to the City of Knoxville, on the City of Knoxville side of Turkey Creek. They’re opening a branch there where the old Chick-fil-A was. Farragut lost Fifth/Third Bank. Very surprising.
