Five Town churches combine efforts to help FLC pantry
Five local Farragut churches are supporting 6th Annual Posies for the Pantry Fundraiser at Farragut Presbyterian Church, 209 Jamestowne Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 12.
“Their hope is that the community will come and purchase spring flowers, plants and herbs to help support the Shepherd of Hope Food Pantry located in Faith Lutheran Church,” A FLC press release stated. “Posies for the Pantry will also feature multiple craft vendors, a ‘Bargain Shed’ of gently-used garden tools and décor and free crafts for the kids.”
Urban Table food truck will provide breakfast sandwiches and other food items to benefit Knox Area Rescue Ministries.
Shepherd of Hope Food Pantry “strives to assist and serve those who are experiencing food insecurity,” the release further stated. “No person is turned away ... .”
The pantry, a ministry of Faith Lutheran, also is supported by Concord United Methodist Church, Farragut Presbyterian, First Baptist Concord and Grassy Valley Baptist Church.
