KCSO reports
• At 11:49 p.m., Friday, March 14, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to a domestic disturbance at a Kingston Pike address. Victim said he and his partner, the suspect, “had been in an on-again, off-again altercation all day, and at one point in the day (suspect) threw a lighter at him, striking him in the side of the face,” the report stated.
Victim “went on to say that at one point the argument escalated to the point where victim (said) that he told (suspect) he would call the police — and at that point (suspect) took his phone.”
Victim also said he “offered his belongings to (suspect), as victim’s belongings are actually (suspect’s) belongings,” the report further stated. Officer said he “offered (victim) transportation to a safe location and medical treatment, which he declined — but did ask for a ride to a location.
“While en route to the location, (victim said) that (suspect) may in fact be the individual who actually called 911 to help during the altercation.”
• At 6:51 p.m., Thursday, March 13, a KCSO deputy was sent to a business along Outlet Drive in reference to an assault. Victim said around 1 p.m. “she was taking her lunch break at work when her ex-boyfriend (suspect) — who she has not seen in almost two years — approached her and began calling her a ‘horrible mother’ because of her having custody of their son who he is currently not allowed to see due to an ongoing DCS investigation,” the report stated.
Victim said “she offered to buy him lunch at the Speedway gas station, trying to de-escalate the situation because she did not want to be seen arguing with someone at her place of business.
“When they returned, they parked across the street at Cotton Eyed Joe and continued to argue, then drove back across the street,” the report further stated.
Victim said “that when they exited the vehicle, (suspect) then asked for a hug. When she went to give (him) a hug, he then grabbed her by the throat and began to strangle her, making it difficult for (victim) to breath, and pushed her to the ground.”
Victim said “she doesn’t know if she passed out or not, but that it began to go black and she does not remember.”
Victim said “once she was on the ground, he let go of her throat and grabbed her by her hair, forcing her to look at him while he was talking,” the report stated.
• At 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, officers responded to a possible burglary at a former Campbell Lakes Drive business.
Complainant/property manager said “he responded to an alarm activation at 9:29 p.m. and discovered the front door to the (business) had been pried open with a metal pole,” the report stated.
Complainant “said he started to check inside of the building for any trespasser, but exited to wait for law enforcement,” the report further stated.
“Officers secured the building and did not locate anyone inside. Officers then walked through the building with complainant to determine if anything was damaged or missing. (Complainant) did not see any signs of damage to the building, and there was no property missing.” Complainant said security cameras “were offline,” while also noting the business has been closed “for about a year, and he was last on the property about one week ago.”
