Ribbon cut, celebration for renovated Farragut Museum May 31; tours set

Celebrate the reopening of Farragut Museum with a ribbon cutting/historical presentations starting at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31. After the celebration, the museum will be open for tours.

Speakers will include Vice Mayor Scott Meyer, UT History Professor Christopher Magra and local historian Frank Galbraith. Members of Girl Scout Troops 20627 and 20391 will voice historical readings.  iolinist Haley Reasoner will offer music, and light refreshments will be served. 

 The event is hosted by Farragut Museum Committee and the Town of Farragut’s Historic Resources department. “The Farragut Museum was closed during the Town of Farragut’s Town Hall remodel, and we want to celebrate the reopening of this great community asset,” a Town press release stated.  The Museum currently is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. “Volunteer docents can offer additional information on exhibits,” Kristi Vining, Historic Resources coordinator, said.
