‘New homeschool umbrella/hybrid option’ ready at CCS for 2025-26
Concord Christian School is reaching children in a new way.
“At the start of the 2025-26 school year, we are thrilled to (announce) a new homeschool umbrella and hybrid school option,” said Angela Keathley, director of homeschool for the new Concord Christian Homeschool.
“This initiative is designed to serve our families by providing additional resources, community and flexibility for those who choose to homeschool,” she added. “This addition reflects the church and school’s dedication to fostering a collaborative educational opportunity for all those desiring Kingdom Education for their children.”
The program came about when Keathley approached CCS head of school Don Snider two years ago, when Concord Christian was building its high school, about starting a homeschool program.
“I had been at the church, probably, about 15 years,” she said. “One Sunday morning, I said to Don Snider, ‘I would like to start a homeschool umbrella program here.’
“He looked at me and said, “I’m building a school. I don’t have time.’ I said, ‘OK, call me when you do.’”
When she learned CCS was starting the homeschool program, she recalled telling Snider, “‘I would love to do the program.”
Now that it’s under way, Keathley said, “I absolutely love it.”
CCH offers two flexible pathways: the umbrella program provides administrative and legal support, record-keeping, standardized testing and curriculum guidance, “all designed to give families greater peace of mind while preserving their homeschooling freedom,” Keathley said.
The second pathway is the hybrid program, which “blends the best of both worlds with engaging in-person classes one day a week on campus while still allowing families to homeschool the remainder of the time,” she said.
As director of the new program, Keathley said, “before we do anything else, we have to seek the Lord’s guidance.
“So if the Lord has called you and you see that you want to homeschool, then I sit down with families and I help them decide how they are going to do that,” she said.
