Small but powerful at Nationals: Heidi’s
Farragut-based children’s gymnastics team has 3 National Team honorees
Heidi’s Musical Gymnastics, 159 West End Ave. in Farragut featuring children gymnasts, enjoyed huge success while recently competing in Nationals in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
“At Nationals our very small Silver team, with only five gymnasts, came in third out of 40 teams, which was outstanding,” coach/gym owner Heidi De La Rocha said. “We had four All-Around National Champions; three gymnasts made the National Team (only 10 were selected throughout all age groups); and six were recognized as Beam Queens.
“We also had three National Floor Champions and five National Beam Champions,” she added.
Individually, “Morgan Rouse was an All-Around National champion: National All-Around floor champion and National All-Around balance beam champion,” De La Rocha said. “She was named to the National Team in the Silver Excel Division — this is among hundreds of gymnasts, and only 10 were selected to be on the National Team.
“Raleigh Henry was an All-Around National champion, as well as the National beam champion and National floor champion; on floor she earned a 9.9725,” the coach added. “Raleigh was was named as a National Team member.
“Shelby Pistole also was selected onto the National Team in Silver Excel Division.”
