KCSO reports

• At 6 :36 p.m., Sunday, July 6, two Knox County Sheriff’s Office units responded to a Corto Lane residence in response to a possible domestic disturbance call.

Complainant/victim said he “is going through a divorce with his wife; however, she still lives in the home,” the report stated.

Victim said his father-in-law “has been coming to his home and bothering his property,” the report further stated. Victim said “when he questioned him about removing some batteries from his security cameras,” his father-in-law “sent him a string of profanity-laced text messages that he found offensive.”

Victim later submitted a screenshot of one of the text messages and a photograph of his father-in-law manipulating a security camera. Victim requested information regarding an order of protection against his in-law and a report to document the incident.

• At 9:39 a.m., Saturday, July 5, officers were dispatched to the area of Pryse Farm Boulevard in reference to a woman trying to enter people’s residences. Officers located the woman, “who appeared confused and did not know where she was,” the report stated. “She (said) she was trying to get home but could not remember where she lived.

“(She) was also very emotional during the interaction and began to cry randomly several times,” the report further stated. “Based on her altered and confused mental state, I transported her to Parkwest Medical Center for a mental -health evaluation.”

• At 2:16 p.m., Thursday, July 3, deputies responded to a Campbell Lake Drive hotel room in regard to a domestic disturbance. “Victim advised that she and her boyfriend got into an argument over messages on each other’s phones,” the report stated. “Victim said that when she was in the hallway, (suspect) grabbed the back of her hoodie and pulled back. This caused (victim) to choke, but she did not lose consciousness. (Victim) refused medical attention, and there were no visible injuries.”

Deputies spoke with the suspect, who said he and the victim “had gotten into a verbal altercation over some messages that she had seen on his phone,” the report stated. “(He said) that during the argument, (victim) was trying to leave, but she had his only key card for the room. (Suspect) said that he tried to get his key from (victim) by grabbing the key card out of her hand. He further advised that there was no physical contact, and no one was injured.

Deputies then spoke with hotel staff, who said “they were in the hallway outside (the room) and they could hear (victim) screaming for help inside,” the report stated. As (victim) leaves the room, (staff witnessed suspect) “using his arm to push (victim) up against the ice machine, preventing her from moving.

“Based on the totality of the investigation, it was determined that (the suspect) was the primary aggressor,” the report further stated. He was taken into custody for domestic assault and transported to Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility without incident. Victim was provided with the Family Crimes blue card and was advised of her rights. She was told about GPS tracking, but she did not wish to participate in GPS tracking.

• At 4:42 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, a complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report wire fraud at an Ashton Court residence.

Complainant said he noticed that money was taken out of his account and used to pay a T-Mobile phone bill.

“Complainant advised he called the Truist Fraud number to make a claim about the unauthorized transaction and was given a claim number,” the report stated. “The complainant reported he went to T-Mobile at 11655 Parkside Drive and spoke to employees regarding the situation.

“The complainant advised that he could see a phone number tied to the transaction and asked the workers if they could verify the number in their system,” the report further stated. “The complainant (said a) worker was able to confirm the number in their system, but advised the complainant he was not able to provide personal information of the suspect.”

Complainant said that employee “gave him the fraud number for T-Mobile. The complainant advised he then went to Truist bank on 11441 Kingston Pike and spoke with (an employee) about the situation and she helped him cancel his account. Complainant stated the total amount was $211.91.

• At 3:34 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, a complainant called KCSO North Precinct to file a report on a theft and forgery at a Glen Abbey Boulevard residence.

Complainant said he was filing the report for his mother, who is the victim. He said the check was written to Sam’s Club and he believes placed in the mailbox at an address listed with KCSO.

“The check was stolen and then whitewashed with the (suspect} as the payee and the amount changed to $9,800,” the report stated.

Complainant was informed by his mother’s bank, Home Federal, “that there was an attempt to deposit the check at Civic Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, North Carolina,” the report also stated. “The bank flagged it and the check was unable to be deposited.”

• At 2:34 p.m., Monday, June 23, a complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report identity theft from a Rockwell Farm Lane residence.

Complainant was searching for services for her home on the Internet at www.spectrum.com. “Complainant then proceeded to the customer service number and dialed (it),” the report stated. “The complainant called the number and provided personal information in the hopes of creating a service account.

“After that, the complainant saw that the customer service number on the website was switching between (two numbers),” the report further stated. “When she called Spectrum again, she was informed that the previous number she had called was a fraud and that they did not have an account open in her name or record of her.”
