Second time around
Hitch opens Onetoomany Upscale Consignment shop in Farragut’s Studio West
“I’m excited,” she said about opening the shop. “I know it’s new — I’m just opening — so if I have a day when no one drops by, it’s OK. I understand because it is new.
“But, I hope people will enjoy things, find something they love,” she added.
This is Hitch’s second time around for opening a consignment boutique.
“In 2014, I had bought the Chic Repeats at Stonecrest Shopping Center,” she related. “And, right as I bought that, my son (Jake Jennings) was killed (when he was hit by a car in which the driver had lost control).”
“I couldn’t deal with (operating the store at that time),” she recalled. “It all just happened at once.”
So, Hitch closed the Chic Repeats store.
However, her love for nice things drew her back to the retail scene to open Onetoomany, which was her son’s nickname, as “he had so many cars and he did all kinds of car things,” Hitch related.
“I enjoy the consignment thing,” she added. “I love shopping at stores, so here I am. Of course, this time, I am starting very small.”
Hitch said customers also can shop on her eBay store, “so I get traffic both places.”
Shoppers can find everything from clothing to bags, shoes and other accessories, with labels such as Kate Spade.
“I like to stick with more high-end items,” she said. “It’s very eclectic, diverse. A lot of the items I have here are things you can’t find in Knoxville.
“There’s always something different,” Hitch added. “Everything’s unique.”
In a consignment shop, “you take people’s item; you sell it for them, and they make some money as well,” she explained. “I get clients. There’s a split where they get X amount when their items sell, and I keep a little for myself.”
Hitch said she can reach a wider audience because she places items on eBay.
The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, or by appointment by calling or texting 865-207-3645.
