Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve event applications for the PJ Parkinson 5K/10K Race and Frosty 5K 2025 Race during its meeting Thursday, Aug. 14.
The PJ Parkinson Run For Parkinson’s, a 5K and 10K race to benefit the PJ Parkinson’s Foundation, is scheduled to take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 in Village Green subdivision and starting and ending at 11533 Kingston Pike in Village Green shopping center.
The Frosty 5K, hosted by Farragut High School Cross Country Team as a fundraiser, will take place from 6 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 20, on streets in Village Green subdivision and Campbell Station Road, starting at Farragut Community Center, said Allison Myers, finance director and Town recorder.
“The Knox County Sheriff’s Office will help provide traffic control and a nurse will be present for any medical issues” at both events, she said. “The applicant is proposing to use volunteers to mark the course.”
According to the applications, 100 spectators and 500 participants are expected at the Frosty 5K.
