CCS roars in Florida
Orlando Fla. – A trip to the Sunshine State proved productive for the Concord Christian School football team.
Not only did the Lions capture a second consecutive victory, but they also took a trip to Universal Studios and did a bit of team building.
“It was a good trip for us,” Concord coach Steve Matthews said after his team routed Palm Beach Christian Prep, 59-14, Friday night. “We went down there and went to Universal Studios and then we went and got a win; so for us, it was a good trip.
“They’re a start-up team like us.”
Lions’ quarterback Kohbe Ward was 4-of-5 through the air, amassing 85 yards and lofting two touchdowns. Dasani Moulden scored three touchdowns for the Lions as he has a 10-yard run. He also hauled in two receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown.
He also returned a punt 47 yards for a score.
Donovan Underwood had an interception return for a TD and a 42-yard scoring reception for the Lions in the contest.
Concord will play another out-of-state game this week as it will head to North Carolina to play the Christ School on Friday.
