Great Clips, Children’s Miracle Network partner up

Great Clips salons across greater Knoxville, including Farragut, recently have partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to raise funds for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital throughout October.

From now until Sunday, Nov. 2, customers who visit a participating salon can make a donation for any amount to the hospital and receive a coupon for $2 off his or her next haircut, according to Brittany Trangsrud, Great Clips external communications manager.

Farragut area residents can visit Great Clips at its 137 Brooklawn St. in Brooklawn Village or 11657 Parkside Drive, Suite B, in Knoxville.

“This October marks 21 years of partnership between Great Clips and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” Trangsrud said. “Since 2004, Great Clips salons have raised over $11 million for member children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada.

“As a local business owner, I’m so excited to help make a difference in the Knoxville community through our partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said salon owner and Great Clips franchisee, Sara Sutherland. “Every single dollar raised in our salons this fall goes toward providing critical healthcare services for local children and families in need.”

“Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raise funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada,” Trangsrud said. “Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.

“Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $7 billion, most of it $1 at a time,” she said.

“Given our focus as a family salon, the Children’s Miracle Network Campaign was a natural fit,” Sutherland said. “We value its ability to connect with and serve a wide range of families in our community, knowing that every dollar raised goes to our dedicated local partner, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

So far, she added the salon has raised $236,000 for CMN. This year’s goal is $25,000.
