Former Bulldog star making history

Stott has assisted in UT ranking Top-5 nationwide

Knoxville — The University of Tennessee soccer team is in the midst of a historic 2025 season.

The Lady Vols have recorded 11 shutouts this season and are ranked in the top five in multiple collegiate women’s soccer polls.

Tennessee (11-1-2 overall, 5-1-1 in the Southeastern Conference) will continue to write its epic narrative as the campaign rolls on.

But one former local high school star has made some personal history in 2025.

Sophomore forward Alivia Stott has scored six goals this season, including five in one match.

Stott, an all-state player who won multiple district, region and state championships during her prep career at Bearden High School, scored five goals in the second half of the Lady Vols’ 9-0 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 16 at Regal Soccer Stadium.

She shares a single-game scoring record with Allison Campbell, who accomplished the same feat in 1998.

Stott also scored a goal for Tennessee in its 4-1 SEC victory over Ole Miss on Sunday, Oct. 5.

She is one of two former Bearden players on the Lady Vols’ roster. Nyla Blue is a sophomore defender for UT. She is the daughter of former Tennessee women’s basketball player Ace Clement Blue.

Nyla’s sister, Jayla, is a senior forward for the Lady Bulldogs and owns several BHS program records. She’ll join Nyla and Stott with the Lady Vols in 2026.

Longtime Bearden coach Ryan Radcliffe and the Lady Bulldogs are currently chasing another District 4-AAA Tournament Championship.

He does, however, take the time to tune to watch his former players whenever time permits.

“It’s always great to see your former players have success in college, at the next level,” Radcliffe said. “I’m lucky because I can always turn on the TV and see my players playing all over the country.”
