Halls halts Farragut

Halls/Crossroads — Farragut Middle School’s girls basketball team saw its 2025-26 season come to an end last week with a loss in the Knox County Middle School Conference Class AAA Tournament quarterfinals.

The Lady Admirals endured a rough second quarter on its way to suffering a season-ending 33-24 loss to Halls on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Halls Middle School.

The contest was a close affair out of the gate with the Lady Devils manufacturing just enough offense to open a slim 9-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

In the second stanza, things came unraveled for the Lady Admirals as they scored just two points during that six-minute span.

After halftime, the two teams played evenly and Farragut even outscored the Lady Devils, 9-6, in the fourth quarter; but it was too little, too late for Farragut against Halls, the league’s Class AAA East Division Champion.

Lady Admirals’ first-year head coach Whitney Lee said the loss at Halls was frustrating.

“It’s always tough when you lose what you think is a winnable game,” Lee said. “I got this team in the summer and consistency is something that we’ve talked a lot about.

“I think we were playing our best basketball at the end of the season.”

It was the Lady Devils’ size that was a big difference in the contest. That, however, was nothing new for the Lady Ads.

“We were undersized in just about every game we played but we played hard,” Lee said.

Tory Strange scored 10 points in Farragut’s season finale, while Neely Titus added six points for the Lady Admirals.

Halls Middle’s Fiona Brewer scored a game-high 16 points.
