Dolphin Dash set for April 25
Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously approved the event during its meeting Thursday, Jan. 22. The run is scheduled for 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 25, and will take place on streets in the Village Green subdivision.
“The schedule is for the runners to go through at 8 a.m.,” said Victoria Gerlach, Farragut Primary School Parent-Teacher Organization chair for the 5K. “It’s a run-walk, so hopefully everybody crosses the finish line in about two hours.”
Community Development director Mark Shipley said proceeds will benefit the FPS PTO to help purchase additional playground equipment designed for students with physical mobility limitations.
“The applicant met with the town’s Event Committee on Jan. 5 to review this event,” Shipley said. “The applicant is also meeting with the Village Green Homeowners Association and will be updating the Certificate of Liability Insurance to add the Town of Farragut as an additional insured entity.”
Shipley said the event will begin and end at Farragut Primary School, where parking will be available and the staging area will be set up.
