Theft, fraud and forgery reported at Municipal Center Drive
On April 18, a woman reported between March 27 and April 18 that a check she mailed from the Farragut Post Office, 11409 Municipal Center Drive, was stolen, altered and cashed without authorization. The complainant said the check, originally written to a credit card company for $1,853.11, was “washed” and changed to another name before being cashed through a bank. Authorities are investigating the incident as theft, fraud and forgery.
Packages reported stolen from Southwick Circle mailbox
A Farragut woman reported April 16 that multiple packages were stolen from a mailbox on Southwick Circle. The complainant said she placed six packages in the mailbox late that morning, but they were gone within about 30 minutes. The items were valued at about $267.
Man reports $23K
scam tied to online vehicle purchase
A man reported April 16 that he was defrauded out of $23,400 after attempting to purchase a camping trailer through
an online marketplace. The victim said he wired money
to a suspect who failed to deliver the trailer and
later stopped cooperating. The case is being investigated as fraud.
Clothing reported stolen from former residence on Lakehurst Lane
A woman reported April 15 that two packages containing clothing were stolen after being mistakenly delivered to her former residence on Lakehurst Lane. The complainant said the items, including a shirt and pajamas, were delivered in March and April but were not recovered.
Vehicle taken from Roane Drive, later recovered
A Farragut man reported April 16 that his vehicle was taken overnight from the Roane Drive area. The complainant said his son “snuck into his room and stole
the keys” without permission and drove the vehicle. Authorities later located the vehicle, and the suspect was taken into custody.
