Meat Theft Investigated at Kroger
An asset protection specialist for the Kroger store on Brooklawn Street reported a shoplifting incident discovered April 29 after loss prevention reviewed April 24 surveillance footage. An unidentified suspect allegedly concealed three packages of steaks, a ground beef chub and a pack of ground beef patties in a backpack and left the store without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at $171.52.
Lost Wallet Reported at DMV
On Thursday, May 1, a man reported losing his wallet while at the DMV. The wallet contained items valued at $2,400, including identification documents, debit and credit cards, a house key and other items.
Online Watch Purchase Ends in Fraud Report
On Tuesday, May 5, a Farragut man reported being scammed out of $7,100 after attempting to purchase a Rolex watch through Facebook between April 16 and April 24. The complainant said he saw the listing online under a seller, “Timepiece Dealier for Rolex Watch.” He messaged the suspect to purchase the watch and then wired money to the third-party seller, Elite Time Traders, but never received the watch. He later discovered the online listings had been removed and filed reports with the FTC and FBI.
